VYT Recruitment Timeline & Process

May 2020 & On: VYT reads through applications submitted on the My AmeriCorps website (check out our Join Our Team page to find instructions on how to apply).

Questions about recruitment?

VYT sends applications to host site supervisors on a rolling basis. You can find host site supervisor contact info on our VYT Host Site Page. We recommend sending your resume and cover letter to supervisors at sites you're interested in. If a host site supervisor is interested in an applicant, they'll reach out to schedule interviews and conduct reference checks.

Once a host site supervisor settles on a candidate, VYT does one more interview to go over the terms, conditions, and benefits of VISTA service in detail. If the final interview goes well, VYT then makes the offer!

Average time between submitting an application and receiving an offer: 2 weeks, depending on how quickly we can contact references.

Each VISTA has to start with a Virtual Member Orientation (VMO) cohort. VMOs we're recruiting for:

-August 3rd

-August 17th

-August 31st

We'll add VMOs as they're scheduled.

Once someone accepts a position, VYT will send enrollment info, orientation dates, and information about living and serving in Vermont for those relocating for service. VYT can also send resources about finding housing, too!
